What's changing
Dr. Patel has moved to out-of-network status with Delta Dental. It wasn't a decision made lightly. Over the years our practice has continued investing in our team, our materials, and most of all the time we spend with each patient. The limits of some insurance contracts made it increasingly difficult to keep caring for patients the way we believe they deserve.
We believe decisions about your dental health should stay between you and your dentist. Insurance should help you pay for your dental care. It should not determine the quality of care you receive.
If you have Delta Dental
Having Delta Dental doesn't mean you need to leave our practice. You can keep seeing our doctors and use your Delta Dental benefits with us. We'll continue submitting your claims as a courtesy, and whenever possible we'll give you an estimate of your benefits and costs before treatment. The doctors and team you know are still here.
A 12-month transition
To make the change easier, Dr. Patel is continuing to honor our current Delta fee schedule for many services for 12 months. We're happy to tell you which services apply to your care.
How out-of-network benefits work
Many dental PPO plans, including many Delta Dental plans, include out-of-network benefits, which means your plan can still help pay for care with the dentist you choose. What you pay depends on your specific plan: its coverage levels, deductible, and annual maximum. In our experience, every plan is different, so being out-of-network doesn't automatically mean significantly higher costs.
Some plans, including HMO-style plans such as DeltaCare USA, don't cover out-of-network care. If that's your plan, we'll talk through your options together.

Payment options
For treatment that goes beyond routine care, we work with CareCredit, which offers extended payment terms for medical and dental expenses. For loyal, uninsured patients, we also offer an in-office financing option. Either way, we'll walk through the numbers with you before treatment begins, so there are no surprises when the statement arrives.
